I was trying to describe what my tinnitus sounds like, and I told my wife that it’s “like the sound a CRT TV makes but louder”. She had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out she can’t hear sounds in the 15khz range; which is at the top of the human audible range anyways.
I wish I could tell my younger self to turn the volume down on his headphones and wear ear protection around heavy equipment. Too late. Now I’ve gotta live with this high pitched whine for the rest of my life. Thankfully mine doesn’t bother me most of the time.
Motorhead. Still sounds rad.
Or genetic. Dad’s side of the family all has it including my 100% deaf sister. Fun.
Do you have issues with vertigo? Huey Lewis was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, which is often signaled by tinnitus and vertigo.
Nope. Zero. I was a tree climber as a kid.
ONLY WAY TO FEEL THE NOISE IS WHEN IT’S GOOD AND LOUD
Alice in Chains nightcore 24/7 for me
For me that’s badly played hardcore punk with an extremely loud drummer :/
eeeeeeeeee
shifts jaw position
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
It would probably end up sounding the same or similar because it would be years worth of clubs and live music and band practise and listening to music in my earphones too loud all jumbled up together and playing at the same time.
WHAT
WHADDYA SAY?
Well, the Tinnitus is bad enough as a high pitch ringing in my ears. If I had to listen to a jumble of music, explosions, engines, artillery, industrial machines and various other loud noises in high pitch non stop, I would blow my brains out.
Hard to pin down proportionally, but there’s a solid chance I’d just be hearing a P-Funk concert 24/7.

I have this and had it for years. Didn’t know what it was called until my old boss told me about it. It’s going, it’s similar to having bad eyes, it’s the way you recieve sound info now always has that high pitch.
I try to meditate or add background noise.
Power tools, 80’s hair metal, youtube videos when windows would randomly reset the volume to 100%
High pitch Crash Worship? Now they sound like some of their opening acts.
Right now I have chipmunks singing “Expresso Macchiato” in my brain.
