i obviously do this in the summer, but i usually sleep with no blanket on (despite probably getting cold in my sleep)
Only in the peak of summer when its 40-45c
Bamboo sheets are pretty nice. They have weight to them but keep you cool in the summer.
If it’s too hot. Unless it’s actually frigid in my room, I also tend to kick the blanket off at some point during the night.
I absolutely can’t sleep without a blanket, but my eight year old sleeps with no blanket and no pillow. Just a couple of stuffed animals in his bed.
Summer, deff (its 42C out in the day).
Winters? Hell no. I was raised by the ocean, so used to very mild climates. Now I live at the base of hills.
On one hand, love all the green, rain and cool temps come spring and autumn. But 0C winter cold? Im a walking cloth hill, nightly buried in comforters.
I have to have covers, absolutely hate my back being uncovered if nothing else. Some sort of blanket or sheet is essential to get to sleep.
Only if I pass out from exhaustion/lack of sleep.
Fat has insulation properties. Without its probably best to crank up the heating.
Blanket is how I get to sleep. I need it. I wish there was a cold blanket for these stupid hot summers. Edit: and yet I can nap fully clothes, on top the blankets, in the afternoon (if I’m super exhausted). So maybe I could condition myself out of this? But I’m not willing to risk my sleep on experiments).
I sometimes sleep with the thing you put around a blanket (I’m not sure what the right word for it is in English)
Quilt cover?
I don’t put anything around a blanket. Can you find a picture?
This, I could not find an image of, but it’s the thing she wraps around the blanket. (The same video, but you don’t have to visit YouTube https://files.catbox.moe/%2F70g75k.mp4)
A duvet cover
Thanks. I tried translating it in my language to English, and I also got dust cover, but I thought it was a mistranslation.I thought a dust cover was the thing some people put on their bed during the day to prevent dust.

The phrase you are after is “Duvet cover.” A blanket is technically just a single layer of fabric, a quilt is several layers and a Duvet is 2 layers with stuffing. Calling any/all of them “blankets” is normal… until you have to put the cover on.
I’ve got a cool weighted blanket that breathes well but still gives that heavy blanket comfort.
Lives in equator: What is blanket?
I never sleep without a blanket at home. If it’s too hot I will put the AC on just do I can have my blanket.
cries in climate crisis
Solar panels, my last electricity bill for a quarter was literally $0 :)
My comment was tongue in cheek. Solar and AC are a good combo.
I’d argue there’s still a energy+climate reckoning coming where energy won’t be as abundant as it has been and high energy use activities (like AC) will be more challenging. the EROEI (Energy Return on Energy Invested) of renewables/low-carbon are much lower than peak fossil fuels.
Incidentally I’m the same as you I’m so socialised on sleeping under something I do it regardless of temperature
The opposite, I always sleep with blanket on even if I don’t want to. In summer I fall asleep with blanket on my side and wake up fully covered in blanket. And sweating like a pig
I have a kkitted blanket my grandmother gave me many years ago with large holes in it I use for this. It provides the weight with very little warmth. Perfect thing
Interesting solution. (Kkitted means knitted, right?)
Yeah that’s it lol I haven’t slept tonight and it’s 6am so I’m running on the thought of fumes at this point. I’m shocked I’m this coherent
I need a blanket to sleep and I usually sleep on my side. When it’s hot I put the lower half between my legs to prevent them sticking together and one corner of the upper half covers my torso the other corner is between my shoulder and face (I rarely use my pillow). It’s more of a ‘hugging the blanket’ than a ‘being covered by it’ situation.
I can barely sleep without my weighted blanket
sometimes yes, sometimes no. i don’t have a blanket rule about it.
Take my angry upvote and get out.
