My girlfriend is really slow at text roleplaying. It’s been getting worse, and today we got mad at her because we went two hours in her game without any plot happening during a session where everyone was in voice call.
Do you have any advice for her on how to improve the pacing of her game?
Futo voice keyboard. I have never been able to send text messages so quickly, and it is incredibly accurate, and it is completely self-hosted on my phone, and does not need network.
But you can’t play with others without network.
You can still use your network, just the keyboard doesn’t connect to anything 😄
Have you guys considered a voice keyboard?
She mumbles. Really bad.
Ehem

“Hi! rams my whole 11" wolf cock, knot and all, roughly up your ass as I reach around to grope you”
this actually works for many, but not everyone wants to skip straight to the good stuff
…
oh wait, you meant… ehh, still applies
I mean,,, we’re kinda doing both types at once,,,

I got really upset with her because she dragged the session out so long that we didn’t get any fucky wucky today
Android has glide typing
I have used SwiftKey since like, 2009? Half my RPs are autocompleted. Whenever someone else uses my phone I have to watch them like a hawk for suggestions lol. I tap the keys though, old school.
Use an actual keyboard that you can touch-type on instead of a phone keyboard/learn to type? I learned to type via text roleplay in the mid-90s, did it every day for about 10 years, and I can type 160wpm on a good day. You can’t even get close to that without touch-typing.
I can type 160wpm on a good day.
That’d be very fast. I mean, even without doing real-time composition.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Blackburn_(typist)
The Guinness Book of World Records included her speed records amongst others in the “Typing, Fastest” category of the 1976[5]–1986[6] editions, where she was listed as able to “attain a speed of 170 wpm” and “maintain 145 wpm for 55 minutes”
Blackburn was popularly recognized as the “world’s fastest typist”[9][10] and made media appearances to exhibit her typing speed and the Dvorak layout, notably appearing in a 1985 episode of Late Night with David Letterman[9] and in a television commercial for the Apple IIc.[10]
Yeah it’s crazy fast, but that’s the result from a typing test I took years ago, though it certainly wasn’t an hour long, more like a couple minutes. I was so impressed that I now use nothing but the keyboard I used for that test because it let me type so fast (Dell SK-8115, sadly they don’t make them anymore and they’re getting expensive but I have a couple spares from when they were $20 on Amazon.) It was for a temp agency (a big company was doing their hiring through them, and because they’re a temp agency they insisted upon doing the usual intake tests and stuff that they do with all temps), and the woman who ran the agency came down to congratulate me herself, said she’d been in the business 35 years and had never seen anyone type faster.
To be fair though I rarely reach that speed in normal use, most times I manage more like 120wpm, but my point is more that touch-typing/physical keyboard can go much, much faster.
That makes me feel real damn good about my consistent 90-110 on a keyboard. Over half way to the best? Fuck yeah.
Everyone else was at our computers and we found out two hours in that she’d been on her phone in bed the whole time. She swears she’s equally fast on her phone.
I was streaming The Office for the other players while we waited for her to type because it was really boring, and she joined the stream, so she was also watching The Office on her phone while typing on her phone.
Yeah, that’s not poor typing skill, that’s just slack-assing, nothing you can do about that except find people who are more engaged with the RP. :P
Also if she’s just as fast on her phone as a physical keyboard then I’m gonna go ahead and assume that she can’t touch-type worth a damn. Skill + physical keyboard will beat skill + virtual keyboard every time, even accounting for swype, auto-correct, word-completion/guessing, etc.
