Break the economy for who? Who is it actually working the best for now? The wealthy elite love the status quo because they are the ones benefitting from it the most.
Even a random middle class midwest family would benefit from moving away from fossil capitalism, since if done correctly the renewable investments would create millions of new jobs (“new” meaning in a different industry). People need to be able to envision what an ideal future could look like, instead of just the dystopian version of the current reality.

Why we need to hold climate criminals accountable with extreme prejudice right now in 2025, and to make the case for full transition away from fossil capitalism.
I have a full repo that mirrors any actual code I have, just so I can practice the very git operations with dummy files before doing it on a real codebase. It has come in handy many many times already and I highly recommend it.

I know it may seem that way if you’re constantly online these days, but in general most people are just people. Like 80% are mostly good, but human, and may have some minor issues. Probably 10% are Jesus-level good, then 10% are sociopathically evil.
Now, if by society you mean “American capitalism”, then yes that favors assholes who care less about their fellow humans. This flavor of capitalism is inherently selfish and greedy, so those who succeed in it are the most greedy and bad people. Yes people care, but the forces preventing anyone from changing it are the strongest in the history of human civilization with technology too now, that makes it borderline impossible to change the underlying system. Only a major catastrophe caused by capitalism where millions of Americans died would cause the general populace to question the system, but honestly even then who fucking knows.

Obviously everyone in the country should be scared and sad about where the country has headed in the last decade. MAGA is both a symptom but also an accelerant, and is the natural evolution of late stage capitalism. Until the real root issues are fixed, nothing will actually change it. Stochastic terrorism will get worse, the divide will get worse, the hollowing out of institutions will get worse. Until the common people can turn off Newsmax, Fox, and Tiktok long enough to have a single rational thought of their own, nothing will change for the better.
The elite are dividing the country through those media sources, so that they spend all their time chasing bullshit like LGBT or immigrants, when the real problem is corporate greed and the ultra-wealthy (influenced by Yarvin/Thiel aspirations) seeking to further dismantle society for their own personal gain.

True, but you can take out a HELOC loan or other if needed. The tax credit that GOP killed and ends Dec 31 is 30%!!! Everyone should be getting as much solar as they can afford.

Solar panels and home battery 100%, but you have to do it before Dec 31 2025 because the tax credit is going away due to the GOP and Trump
On another account on reddit I asked some political science subreddit “what if we used a type of git tool for bill contributions and history tracking?” It would have to be extremely simplified for such tech illiterate people to navigate it of course, but the consensus seemed to be that lobbyists could still sneak in their own language in massive pushes with opaque commit comments.
