Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you buy a Smart Glass in the foreseeable future?
9·3 months agoAnd on everybody else.
Yes, the one by Phil Tippett. It’s a stop motion movie. One of a kind.
Mad God and John Carpenter’s The Thing.

161·4 months agoWell, the Bible says, the sun was created after Earth. So fuck that.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What movie did you see too young that still haunts you to this day?
7·4 months agoI was 4 and my grandma was visiting and was supposed to look after me while my parents went out. They gave her the VHS of the first Terminator. I snuck into the living room and watched a bunch of it without her noticing. Afterwards, all the toy robots had to be taken out of my room because ‘the man with the red eye took his eye out’. My parents were then able to put one and one together.
Nowadays one of my favorite movies, tbh.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on national pride / patriotism?
6·4 months agoI have. And yet I never had the feeling that my club’s achievements were mine, unless I had contributed to them. And even then, I was just proud to have been part of the team with which I achieved the performance. I can differentiate very well.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on national pride / patriotism?
111·4 months agoPatriotism is the little sibling of nationalism, and the boundaries are fluid. I will never understand why people are proud of other people’s accomplishments and make them their own. Or is it because people were shat on somewhere else in the world than everyone else? Makes absolutely no sense.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Tomorrow you wake up with the power of Superman for 48 hours, what's on your to do list?
2·6 months agoConsidering it takes around 8 minutes for the sunlight to reach us, I think even a fraction of the speed of light would be enough.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Tomorrow you wake up with the power of Superman for 48 hours, what's on your to do list?
12·6 months agoNot sure if that’s fast enough, but I would try to visit all the planets in our solar system. And then head out to see what’s in the Oort cloud.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•For those who play games on a PC with 2 monitors, are you a game on the left screen or game on the right screen person?
5·6 months agoSome people here must have really stiff necks. I’ve got 2 screens and play on my gaming screen, which is right in front of me. The secondary screen is to the right.
And don’t forget that, while PC hardware might be more expensive (on the other hand you can build a superior PC at the cost of a console), games are way cheaper in the long run with countless sales on PC. I accept that everybody likes what they like. But PC games used to drive technological development, which consoles slowed down. And I hate that.
