klemptor@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What form of entertainment, movie, music, tv, video game etc that you were excited about only after it came out did you realize it was trash?4·8 days agoYeah I was a senior in high school and everyone was skipping class on opening day to see it. What a goddamn disappointment!
klemptor@startrek.websiteto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Should I tell my 13 year old son about my job?11·8 days agoI’m so tired of your posts. Every single one is so formulaic. ‘I’m a single mom of a 13-year-old boy (yes I had him at 15), he sleeps in the same bed as me, should I tell him I’m dating someone, should I tell him I’m a stripper’… yadda yadda yadda. And sometimes you repost your past posts. To what end? I’m not sure what your deal is and why you insist on inappropriate interactions with your son, but it’s sick. I really hope this is a troll account because otherwise you have a seriously messed-up dynamic in which you treat your son more like a husband than your child, and I guarantee he will need counseling. If this is real you need to get your shit together. Jesus fucking christ.
klemptor@startrek.websiteto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are you a feminist? (If so why, if not why not?)103·9 days agoI am a staunch second-wave feminist. I believe in equal rights and equal respect for men and women and everyone else who doesn’t fit into that binary, and that all should be able to work toward the life that suits them best without worrying about traditional gender roles.
It makes me sad to see women who are quick to say they’re not a feminist, because they certainly benefit from feminism and I think they’d be rightly enraged if that went away. If they lost the right to vote, to have a bank account or own a home, to pursue whatever education interests them and work in that field, to choose whether/when/how to have children (RIP Roe v Wade), etc. I think a lot of women take a lot of these things for granted, but they exist because of feminism.
Sadly, I think the term ‘feminism’ has been successfully demonized in online spaces, to the point that many think it’s the same as feminazi. In part this is because the most awful and vocal part of any movement draws a lot of negative attention, and subsequently those who are against equality for women can use feminazis as a boogeyman to denigrate the feminist movement.

If you open the bag, the lemon inside won’t be labeled for individual purchase (no sticker with a code to ring it up at the register), plus now you’ve ruined the bag so nobody else can purchase it.

klemptor@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What were your parent's rules on video games?4·18 days agoOne hour of Gameboy every other day. We had Tetris (of course), Super Mario Land 1 (the Egypt themed one) and 2 (the one with the big coins), Star Trek TNG, and Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle. Maybe one or two others that I don’t recall. No other video game systems.
Movies, we weren’t allowed anything past PG until our late teens, and my mom was constantly trying to shove G-rated stuff down our necks. We saw Babe, Toy Story, and It Takes Two in the theater; I was 14 and way too old for that shit. We got Shirley Temple videos in our Easter baskets every year (we did not like Shirley Temple).
Basically we were way too sheltered. It was awful for my social life!

klemptor@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•why the hell cant men stay out of women-only spaces?4·22 days agoNo, of course I don’t expect that. But it’s a nice thing when it happens.
klemptor@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•why the hell cant men stay out of women-only spaces?52·22 days agoThank you for doing that - such a simple and kind thing to do!
klemptor@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•why the hell cant men stay out of women-only spaces?82·22 days agoYou hope that men will recognize that this is a space not meant for them (which is often explicitly stated in the post body) and respectfully not comment. And those men that do comment but are respectful get politely asked not to comment again. And those men that comment and are rude or disrespectful get banned.
And some men do fly under the radar but a surprising number feel the need to start their comment with “As a man…”.

I also have reed diffusers throughout my house to add a little scent. IMO the key is to choose one scent for your whole house so that it smells cohesive, and to choose a scent that is mild, not too artificial or overwhelming. Right now I’ve got the Life in Lilac diffusers in Peppermint Bliss and they smell great. All I have to do is flip the reeds once a week.
You might also be going nose blind to the febreze plug-ins if the scent is disappearing after a couple of days.
Gus gussssss!!
