Yep! My first bruises from a police baton stayed with me for almost 2 months (they got me in the ribs) but I showed them off with pride! The comradery at protests is amazing, and the contacts you make are for a lifetime!

kcweller@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something you immediately judge a person for when you see them wearing or have?6·14 days agoI fucking hated crocs when they came out.
And then I went on a canoe vacation in Sweden and now I swear by them 😂

I immediately know you’re vacuous and live your life for the image you have for others instead of focusing on yourself.
kcweller@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you ever use words from different countries?3·22 days agoSince it’s from modern “Hebrew” it doesn’t really matter how you spell it since Hebrew is an abjat script

kcweller@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you ever use words from different countries?5·23 days agoI’m Dutch, but often speak English as I’m fluent in it, so it sometimes mixes. Other words I often use are
- some German, Spanish and French phrases (secondary languages),
- various toasts, like lechajim, skål, depending on the people I’m with,
- some Arabic like shukran, habibi,
- Surinamese slang (kaolo is a fun one)
Zen, a heavily modified firefox. A different design paradigm than every other browser, which I personally like. Easy hot keys, runs on any OS, lots of customizability.
Needless to say I’m a big fan!
kcweller@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your method of enjoying (or at least tolerating) physical exercise?1·1 month agoThanks! I took a look at the studie and it’s “citations” and “cited by” articles. Sounds promising! I’ve got dementia / AD in the family, pretty sure I’m next in line in about 50 years. I’ve never heard about the topic but it seems pretty rigorously researched!
I climb, but not very often. Time to get the running shoes out and start getting some regular exercise in again.
Weight lifting can get stolen for all I care, I hate it 😂 But we have a forest exactly 3 minutes walk away, so time to get out in nature again!
kcweller@feddit.nlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your method of enjoying (or at least tolerating) physical exercise?3·1 month agoGot any sources to read up on BDNF and working out? I just checked some stuff online but it’s mostly either ai-slop articles or science papers about the protein itself 😅
Netherlands here, I call, have an appointment the same or next day, insurance covers all costs.
If they proscribe meds, I pay a part up until a maximum of 385 euros per year (called “own risk”) , anything above that is covered as well.
I’m also covered for physiotherapy (18 sessions without “own risk”), psychological therapy, dentistry and a variety of alternative medicine!
I pay a pretty hefty premium, like 170 euros a month, but that’s because I have the lowest “own risk” and I blow through that in the first month or 3 with my rickety ass body 😂
Definitely beats footing the bill completely, I’ve seen what dentistry costs 😱
