At least animated WEBP is kind of good; APNGs have huge file sizes and are not widely supported.

Lossless webp actually has slightly better compression than PNG.
Most browsers support it, but most web apps, including some Google Suite stuff ironically, don’t support uploading a webp.
I spent 4-6 hours the other day trying to figure out the equivalent of Hello World for a MediaWiki parser function extension.
In theory, they have a quick start guide, but that documentation has so many errors, and I spent ages jumping between PHP and a JSON configuration file I barely understood.
At least it’s working now. Now time to figure out how the heck to properly interact with the MediaWiki database!
(Perhaps once I’m a bit more confident in MediaWiki development, I’ll see if I can tidy up some that documentation.)
Yeh. They really did C++ unnecessarily dirty.
Probably would work well on OpenTTD for similar reasons.
Honestly, there’s a bit of an “if I had a nickel” meme for open source reverse engineered clones of Chris Sawyer tycoon games, although it would be 3 nickels rather than the traditional 2 due to OpenLocomotion.
