Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What did you stupidly believe as a child?
6·7 days agoWell in theory with a big enough campfire it would work. So you weren’t entirely wrong.

15·7 days agoThere’s a Calvin and Hobbes strip about this. I think it’s the run where their house was broken into and Hobbes was missing. Calvin came to the same realization and I remember it really sticking with me as a kid.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a video game you were bummed about finishing, wishing the experience lasted longer?
23·10 days agoSkyrim. Yeah I know there’s a ton to do and the real game is side quests and leveling up etc etc. But after I killed Alduin I kinda looked around and was like “wait is that the end of the main quest?” First game I ever had to google if I had beaten it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to get greasy spots out of wooden cutting board properly?
9·12 days agoLots of great comments here but one more awesome thing about wooden cutting boards - you can always sand off a very fine layer to expose new wood if the surface gets too gnarly. Then oil it and use it like usual again.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•"Refrigerate after opening and store in the refrigerator door." Why the door for this mayo?
127·13 days agoIf I had to guess, it’s because the back/top of the fridge is more prone to freezing.

Cold medicines don’t treat colds, they treat cold symptoms, many of which are the same as allergy symptoms.
