I guess ragebait really is what the people want. Its a bit sad but oh well.
The info hygiene here is really bad. I thought people here would be better about finding well sourced informative articles to talk about but its the same news slop that dominates other platforms. This is a discussion forum so posts should have something worth discussing. Spamming the same trump action over and over doesnt create any discussion.
Scrolling through the news community is so depressing there is no comments because everyone is thinking “what do you want me to say its bad its awful”
the startrek instance has the best culture IMO. Its just wholesome startrek posting and they always seem to dig up a relevant scene.

1·17 days agoTrue, you made a strong case for your point of view and swayed me with a very convincing argument. I kneel.
Thats a scheduling issue on your end. I’ve given the time estimate my team needs. You can adjust expectations and shift around my allocated time but it will take x hours no matter what.
There is no putting up with half of these complaints. They just arent real things that occur in a workplace.

1·18 days agoIts only slow because you want an entire reply pretending not to know whats going on or engaging. If you think its petty just move on I dont care if you like what Dansup has done it makes no difference if a small minority of people hate it.

1·18 days agoNo! No one said you are suppose to like everything hes done. The point is that majority of people like his projects. Its not apathy, people genuinely think his projects are good. If you still dont like them thats fine majority doesnt mean 100%. Please take a second to read the text on screen holy fuck.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What steps can be taken to prevent AI training and scraping of my public facing website?English
10·1 month agoYou could put your website behind a cloudflare anti bot check. But realistically, your website is public facing and these bots are scraping the public web. They will eventually get the data from your website.
Bluesky did a lot right. I really hate it because of that. I think its going ot eventually win out and become exactly the same as twitter.
I dont find them addictive, just useful.
I dont want corporate platforms to be the only ones to implement recommendation algorithms. The problem with the platform is its a blackbox not that it has algorithmic recommendations. And the fediverse will do it, there is already the beginnings of recommendation algorithms.
Those arent the steps. There is a 6th one because you have to go find content. Whats served up by default is random and not very good compared with the algorithmic feeds of other platforms.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how did you make the switch from reddit to lemmy.. i'm trying to myself but struggling to nglEnglish
2·3 months agoI like discussion and hearing different point of views. Lemmy is great for one side but i’ve supplemented it with reading HackerNews. I find the discussion on there way more good faith and even though its stupidly pro AI I still like reading why people like AI and posts about how they are using it.
Mostly im just hear for Tech and Linux and memes. After leaving Reddit I barely ever return. Sometimes i open up a sub to scroll the top posts of the month to see if anything was missed

Its not about other peoples opinions. Its about me looking at the way that I come to form my own opinions and wondering am i actually forming my opinion based on real logic.
Based on the explanations in this thread Im going to say that no I wasnt. Even though it seems to be fine to draw a line I had no reasoning for why I was actually drawing the line.
