As an American I am continually confused by the current UK govt being not at all what I imagined a Labour party to be. From the outside it looks like a bait and switch

Runaway@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think **you** can become a benevolent dictator without ever getting corrupted or turn evil?8·3 days agoWell I wouldn’t view it as evil but extreme measures tend to be viewed as evil by someone
Runaway@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do people really not care that we live in a society that favours assholes or are there so many more assholes than nice people that it's unstoppable?2·3 days agoNice people are unwilling to do the things necessary to stop assholes. Nice people won’t berate them, most won’t call them out, etc etc.
Runaway@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was your last “impulse buy” and was it worth it?4·9 days agoA video game that I’ll get around to playing in like a decade after I get through the other games in my back log but hey it was on sale lmao
Runaway@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your most "Fuck you, this is actually awesome?" take?17·9 days agoOoh that is one I vehemently disagree with lol. It was a ok movie if it was its own thing, but it wasn’t a good star wars movie, it was worse for being in the sequel trilogy as opposed to a stand alone star wars movie, and it was even worse for being the middle of that trilogy. The more context you add the worse it is imo
Man would I love to be an expat lol
