Usually around the fediverse (aka: platforms like Lemmy) are more left-leaning, so by default, people assume you’re trolling, but it’s fine. In the English language, some people ask questions that seem innocent, but is secretly trying to push an agenda. People just assumed that it was what you were doing.
There are some platforms here that do have a karma system. Mbin does, and I think Piefed iirc had a similar but not same scoring system for users too.
Piefed gives warning signs on an account that has 90% of their posts downvoted not necessarily scoring
